Why are holograms secure?
Holograms may contain both Overt and Covert security components.
- Covert DOVIDs may use one, or a combination of many available forms, such as elements only readable by machinery, to proprietary graphics which can only be identified by a trained eye. Covert DOVIDs are highly secure. Holographic imaging - The Master Mastering a hologram encompasses designing, shooting,
and tooling the original holographic image that will be replicated. There are many techniques
used to create holograms. Each imaging technique provides a different level of security. The
best and most secure holograms utilize combinations of these techniques. 2D - Multi-level graphic - 3D - Dot matrix - Stereogram Hologram Production - Embossing and Finishing The hologram master is completed, embossing plates are created; the holographic image is pressed into the appropriate substrate; conversion into labels is achieved. Depending on project requirements, a number of materials and constructions are available. Security hologram materials range from tough tape (that physically secures like a packing tape) with anti-counterfeit properties to tamper evident materials that break apart. During security hologram manufacture, additional components may be added to increase anti-counterfeit properties. These include: Printing - Numbering - Bar-coding - Printed Adhesives - Laminate constructions Each security need has its own requirements. Holographic Design, Inc., is committed to assessing and understanding your concerns in order to produce the correct holographic product providing maximum security.
